Cusco-Moray-Maras

 

We pick you up from your hotel at 08:30 am. The tour starts at 9:00, driving to Moray, located about 62 km of Cusco. Here was where the Incas carried out their studies of adaptation of the plants to new ecosystems. Then, we went to the picturesque town of Maras, which is 52 km from Cusco at an altitude of 3,380 m. The importance of the place is the salt mines that it has.

 

In Maras our staff will give you all the briefing of the tour and recommendations for the correct use of the equipment’s, risks and difficulties of the tour. The zip line lines are designed to be driven by the force of gravity, sliding from the top to the bottom by stainless steel cables. It is a very exciting sport, and allows you to gain new perspectives of this beautiful Sacred Valley. In addition, it is often part of military training, and certainly one of the longest in the world.

 

At the end of the tour, we will take again the transportation to back to Cusco.

Highlights of the Cusco Zip line Adventure

  • During the tour, we pass over Moray, a prototype of a greenhouse or biological experimental station, quite advanced for its time. During the dry season, they are fill every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural source located at the top of the wells. Therefore, when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it gradually solidifies.

Doubts and Frequent Questions about Cusco Zip line Adventure

What is a zip-line or canopy?

A zip line, flying fox, zip wire, aerial runway, death slide or tyrolean crossing consists of a pulley suspended by cables mounted on a slope. They are designed to be driven by gravity and slide from the top to the bottom with a cable.


Who can upload to the zip line?

The minimum age for the zip line is 6 years of age.


What equipment is used?

A canopy harness, set canopy (pulley, tape and 3 carabiners), helmet and gloves. All equipment is CE certified.


Security in the zip-line

All roads between cable and cable are equipped with system via ferrate for greater safety. The cables were laid, in such a way, that the person loses speed as he approaches the end of the cable. All our staff are train in vertical rescue and first aid periodically.


What should I bring?

Wear light clothing and good shoes (tennis, light hiking boots, etc). No sandals. Is suggest to wear trousers and wear a light jacket, a small backpack. You will need at least 1 liter of water.
